2000 Series Subsea Rotary Actuator

The 2000 Series Subsea Rotary Actuator is a compact and robust solution designed for precise underwater motion control. Like all 2G subsea actuators, it combines a fully integrated motor driver, position feedback sensor, and servo control system. This design eliminates the need for calibration or “homing” on power-up and ensures reliable, repeatable performance in challenging subsea environments.

Engineered for versatility, the 2000 Series offers two main variants: a High Speed model and a High Torque model. The High Speed actuator delivers up to 10 ft-lbs of torque at 60 RPM and 24 V, while the High Torque actuator provides 30 ft-lbs continuous and 50 ft-lbs peak torque at 9 RPM. Both models feature RS-232, RS-485, and analog control options as standard, allowing seamless integration into a variety of control systems.

Moreover, the actuator’s IP69K rating provides full protection from water and dust ingress, as well as resistance to steam-jet cleaning. Thanks to its rugged design and integrated electronics, the actuator performs reliably even under extreme pressure and temperature conditions. Consequently, it offers long service life and reduced maintenance demands.

Main features and performance

  • Output Force: 100 lbs (tension and compression)
  • Nominal Voltage: 24 VDC (operating range 10–32 V)
  • Control Options: Serial or analog interface
  • Outer Diameter: 2 inches
  • Depth Rating: Up to 10,000 ft
  • Integrated compensator system for stroke lengths up to 4 inches

In addition, the 2000 Series Subsea Rotary Actuator minimizes the need for external control hardware, simplifying subsea system design and integration. Its advanced feedback and servo control ensure smooth, accurate rotation, even in harsh subsea environments.

Configuration options

A wide range of configuration options is available to match project-specific needs:

  • Output speed and torque
  • Output shaft length and design
  • Connector type and pinout
  • Dual connector for redundant power and data
  • Material choices: 316 stainless steel, 6061 aluminum, or grade 5 titanium

Furthermore, the dual connector option can serve as a pass-through for power and data, offering additional flexibility in system design.

Key applications

The 2000 Series Subsea Rotary Actuator is ideal for applications that demand precision, reliability, and compact design, such as:

  • Valve actuation

  • Torque tools

  • Mobility systems

  • Control surface actuation (e.g., wings and rudders)

  • Winches and tensioner systems

Thanks to its modular architecture and durable construction, the actuator performs efficiently in both shallow and deep-water operations.

Testing and quality assurance

Before shipment, every actuator undergoes a detailed Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) to verify its electrical, mechanical, and sealing performance. Each unit is delivered with complete test documentation for full traceability. As a result, you can rely on consistent quality and proven subsea reliability with every 2000 Series Subsea Rotary Actuator.
