EVERAXIS is proud to support Raytheon in the development of the U.S. Army’s advanced air and missile defense capabilities through our collaboration on the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS).
What is a LTAMDS ?
The LTAMDS is a cutting-edge, 360° active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar system designed to significantly enhance protection against today’s most sophisticated threats. At the heart of the system is Ghost Eye®, Raytheon’s next-generation radar technology, which opens the door to a new family of sensors capable of detecting a broader array of threats—including manned and unmanned aircraft – at greater distances and higher speeds than ever before.
Program updates
Since the initial delivery of LTAMDS to the U.S. Army, the system has successfully completed eight complex flight tests, demonstrating its capabilities in real-world scenarios. These tests have validated the radar’s performance and led the U.S. Army to confirm that LTAMDS has reached Milestone C, marking the transition to the production and deployment phase.
As of 2025, LTAMDS is officially recognized as a program of record, reinforcing its critical role in both homeland defense and expeditionary operations.
