A&D and industrial applications require an increasing amount of data being transmitted in rotating applications. Key is to protect the signal integrity, in itself and from external pertumbances. For the sake of durability, contactless transmission has been increasing using FORJs as a preferred solution.
When application requires several channels however, mechanical and optical complexity of such compenent grows exponentially with an increased impact on weight, size, MTBF, and ultimately value to cost. In addition, there is concern about Multi Channel FORJ performance in a high shock and vibration environment. Keeping the FORJ mass low and multiplexing into several channels provides the best potential solution for the high shock and vibration environments.
A typical solution would be having an electronic multiplexing which brings other challenges, in particular in case of EMC Pertubances.
Up to 6 channels in a single-channel enclosure
Faced with these challenges, EVERAXIS set a bold objective: transmit up to 6 channels within the same enclosure as a traditional single-channel FORJ.
Since conventional multi-channel techniques couldn’t achieve this, we shifted our focus to the signal transmission system level, leveraging one of the advanced multiplexing strategies we’ve developed over years for critical signal transmissions in space-constrained environments.
