The 6000 Series Subsea Rotary Actuator combines precision, flexibility, and durability for the most demanding subsea and industrial applications. Like all 2G Engineering actuators, it features fully integrated position feedback and motor control systems that deliver smooth and accurate rotary motion. Thanks to its advanced angular measurement system, the actuator never requires calibration or “homing” on power-up, which simplifies setup and ensures immediate operational readiness.
The 6000 Series Subsea Rotary Actuator is available in both high torque and high speed configurations. Its integrated multi-stage planetary gearbox allows almost any total gear ratio, providing torque outputs ranging from 5 to 500 ft-lbs. Consequently, this series can meet the needs of even the most challenging underwater or topside operations.
All 2G actuators are IP69K rated, guaranteeing full protection from dust, water, and high-pressure steam-jet cleaning. Moreover, the 6000 Series can be configured to perform in a variety of environments — from deep-sea operations to hygienic food processing facilities. Each unit includes isolated RS-232, RS-485, and analog control interfaces as standard and typically operates between 48 V and 300 V DC.
Product configurations
6100R T1 Frame
The T1 is a compact subsea direct-drive actuator. It reaches 2500 RPM no-load and delivers 6 ft-lb peak torque. As a result, it suits small valves, instrumentation, and light tools that need fast response and precise control.
6100R T2 Frame
The T2 uses a single-stage gearbox. It provides 45 ft-lb peak torque and an F07 flange. It fits medium-duty valves and compact ROV tools where size and efficiency matter.
6100R T3 Frame
The T3 includes a two-stage gearbox. It reaches 250 ft-lb peak torque. It serves mid-range subsea automation, including valves, winches, and precision tools.
6100R T4 Frame
The T4 features a three-stage high-speed gearbox with an F10 flange. It outputs 500 ft-lb peak torque. It handles demanding valve and rotary drive tasks without adding much size.
6100R T5 Frame
The T5 uses a three-stage high-torque gearbox and an F12 flange. It produces 1000 ft-lb peak torque. It supports heavy tools, large valves, and harsh-environment operations.
6100R T6 Frame
The T6 is the highest-torque model. Its four-stage gearbox and F14 flange deliver 2000 ft-lb peak torque. It powers the largest valves and deepwater applications needing maximum strength.
All 6100R units include an integrated servo motor/drive, pressure compensation, and an LED shaft-position indicator.
Housing options include stainless steel, anodized aluminum, and titanium.
Available options include T1–T6 frame sizes, spring-applied fail-safe brakes, ISO 5210/5211 flanges, shaft variations, multiple communication interfaces, and power inputs from 12–55 VDC or up to 800 V.
Product applications
The 6000 Series Subsea Rotary Actuator is suitable for a wide range of applications, such as:
-
Valve actuation
-
Torque tools
-
Mobility systems
-
Control surface actuation (e.g., wings or rudders)
-
Winches and tensioner systems
This versatility allows engineers to deploy the 6000 Series across multiple sectors, ensuring consistent and reliable motion control in both subsea and industrial environments.
Testing and Verification
Before shipment, every actuator undergoes a comprehensive Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) to confirm its electrical, mechanical, and sealing performance. Detailed test records accompany each unit for full traceability. As a result, customers receive a proven, reliable, and ready-to-deploy subsea actuator that meets the highest performance standards.
